great cape escape...

so maybe i've mentioned before that i {love} mixed media mondays.  it's a great escape every week. well, tracy found this cape one day. and it turned into the great cape escape which involves a cape, a journal, and traveling around the country.  it is awesome!  the cape and journal found its way to me last week.  and it couldn't have come on a better day.  thank you, tracy, for this amazing jourey!!

hello...

i haven't posted a card for a while. and i can play along with friends with flair this week! i have loved this huge poppy stamp since the first time i saw it on the unity website.  but i didn't get it because i had no idea what i would do with it.  i finally gave in and got it.  i made a set of cards like this one in four different colors. so simple!

uphill...

this was kind of an uphill battle for me!  i loved what sandee from frosted designs did and thought i would try it out.  little did i know i actually had pipettes to work with!  the technique was a little frustrating for me but i did like the finished project.  it's fun experimenting (and a little aggravating!) with new techniques to see what you do and don't like! thanks for the push, again!!

sing your song...

i've been browsing on pinterest the past few days. love finding inspiration there. of course it's a bad place for someone with a short attention span.  you click on one thing, then another, then 20 minutes later you have forgotten what you were looking for in the first place and have been to like 30 blogs!!  i found this cute tutorial from jenny hall and knew i wanted to do something similar...cause i love cute little birds like that.  here's what i ended up with.

fly...

one of my mixed media monday night peeps has a tutorial every sunday over at frosted designs.  i needed a little jump start on my mojo and i'm a sucker for birds.  so i decided to try this one out.  i didn't do well with leaving the "white space", but i love it anyway!

peace...

it's been a few months since i've entered tracy's monthly creative dare. and it took me until the very last day to get it done.  the hardest part was trying to find a word, but i finally settled on one.  hopefully this word will carry me through the year.

a challenge...

one little word.  the past few years, the kick has been picking one word at the beginning of the year and having it be your theme for the year.  i'm just not feeling the word this year.   i haven't done much in the way of crafting or especially mixed media lately.  no real reason...the holidays, work, life?  and i've realized how much i've missed it.  my friend andy has had a rough go of things the past few months and she hasn't been much up for creating either. and also wasn't feeling a word.  so she issued me a challenge.  to get both of us back in to the creating realm. and i'm so happy she did.  we both simply started a background.  and i think it both did us a world of good. got my fingers all covered with paint again and i'm not going to let it go too long again.  i simply grabbed some paint, bubble wrap and got to it. i don't know what i'll do with it, but it's a cool background.  i'm still not feeling a word, but i'm okay with that.  maybe it will hit me in july!

when i was done, i had some paint left over on some paper.  i thought it may look cool all smooshed together as a background.  here's how it turned out.

so thank, andy, for the little push i needed to get back to creating!!
